Just wow!!! It was so great to meet Lynda and Michel and spend time with them. We were able to work well independently while enjoying the breathtaking views. What we particularly liked was that we and our work were appreciated and we were treated like part of the family - with joint evenings of conversation, which we greatly like. We hope to be able to experience this part of Canada again :)

I went 2 weeks on Kevin's farm. My experience was fantastic. Kevin, Jasmine, and his family are kind. I learned a lot about gardening and English languages. I recommend this farm. Thanks you Kevin ! Lilou

It was a real pleasure hosting Abby through Workaway. She is friendly, thoughtful, honest, and hard-working — always willing to lend a hand and eager to learn. We’re especially grateful for her help around the farm, from tackling blackberries and various garden tasks to helping care for the animals. She also embraced the challenge of mastering sourdough and did a fantastic job! Abby was also great with our daughter — kind, patient, and engaging. Wishing you all the best for your big European trip and hike — safe travels, and we hope to cross paths again someday!

Anyone who gets to volunteer with Luc and Refugio Urbano is a very lucky person indeed! I spent two weeks with these wonderful people and I already miss them very much. From the moment I arrived at the Refugio, I felt so welcomed. It was like they were eagerly anticipating my arrival and they made me feel special. Luc also goes to an unprecedented effort in welcoming his volunteers and making sure they fit right in. Luc is one of the most generous people I have met, and together with his partner Andreza they have absolutely everything you can think of ready for a volunteer to feel comfortable and valued. Luc is also a very inspiring person who has a unique perspective on life an incredible commitment to his purpose. We shared so much together in a short time: meal times, deep conversations, outings, karaoke, singing lessons, great yoga & culture classes & much more. I am very grateful for this experience which I couldn't have asked more from. I'll be waiting to see them again! 💛

Kanon is a very pleasant young lady. She has been walking and playing with my very energetic and young dog. She is very keen and able to help in the house and garden. Kanon is a very pleasant and calm persona to the household. Can recommend Kanon for your Workaway needs.

Paulina and Daniela were the perfect fit as Workawayers. I do believe though that would apply to whoever they stayed with. They were both very hard workers, showing initiative and goodwill with all their chores. From housework to gardening to ironing and cooking, they were very enthusiastic and able. They absolutely loved my dog Marshall who benefited from many walks and fun. We had some lovely conversations learning about our different lives. I fully recommend the girls to your home. .

I loved my time volunteering at the hostel! The other workers and the management team worked well together. The yoga classes were engaging and very helpful. The family dinner times were amazing. And the overall mood of the hostel was always positive. It’s a great place to stay while in San Cristobal and it’s a wonderful place to work for a month!

I absolutely loved my time at this place. I talk about it often as I am still in Chiapas, Mexico traveling. And connected to great people that I was introduced to by Lorena. I think that it is a magical place. Lorena is such a caring and loving person. I am so grateful to have met her. The property is in a charming little town, that felt so welcoming to me. Her approach to helping people heal is what is needed in this world. It was my first Workaway experience. And I’m glad that she was so gentle with allowing me to also experience her medicine. It changed my life forever, in the best way.

My experience at the wildlife rehabilitation center was truly exceptional. I had initially planned to stay for two weeks, but ended up extending to three because the place left such a strong impression on me. This rescue center, deep in the Bolivian Amazon, allows you to genuinely help the animals by understanding their needs, observing them, and learning how to interact with them with respect and care. The team is amazing – passionate, welcoming, and always willing to share their knowledge. Living without electricity or signal creates a real break from everyday life, which makes the experience even more powerful. You form deep bonds with the other volunteers in this simple, authentic setting. If I ever come back to Bolivia, I’ll definitely return to volunteer to this place!

I had the best time helping out at the learning institute in Quito. I was there for 4 weeks, and felt super welcomed adn cared for. I stayed with Karina's in-laws, a family that also works at the school, and they treated me like their own: they provided my meals, took me on excursions, and cared for my safety while I was there. The school staff were also really great, and I became good friends with the other teachers at the institute. I helped at the school 5 days a week, with a flexible schedule, where I switched between morning, afternoon, and online classes. Otherwise, I took advantage of the flexibility and went on many adventures in and around Quito, some with the students from the institute and other teachers, some with my host family, and some on my own. The family I stayed with spoke little English, but I loved the opportunity to practice my Spanish, and it was a real immersion for me. Overall, I loved the structure and support I had at the school, and I got to do a lot of cool stuff that I wouldn't have done if I had just gone to visit Quito alone for a week. It was really hard to leave my host family and the school after a month, but I strongly recommend this workaway for anyone looking to explore Quito, help spread the love of English, and open to learning Spanish!

I spent just over a week at Sarndra's and had a really lovely experience here. Sarndra as a host is just the most kind and attentive person, who couldn't do enough for me. My time was mostly spent in the beautiful jungle of a garden, but I also did some cleaning and tidying on rainy days. Sarndra's cooking was absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed our chats over the dinner table. After lunch I was very much left to my own devices where I got to explore Dunedin, of which Sarndra had lots of local recommendations. This is a really special place and I couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you for everything Sarndra and I hope to see you again in the future! ❤️👋🙌😊

Despite the cold and rainy summer we had such a great chill week with Yuri! She is wonderful, open minded and easy going person full of joy, light and kindness.. Yuri is on the mission to go around the world, and I'm rooting for her so much!!! moreover she is very strong ping-pong player so don't hesitate to try your best and she makes the best miso soup ever (mniammniam;) I am so happy that we met and were able to share our cultures, which are not as far apart as I would have previously thought.. Thank you so much for your help, best of luck on your journey and come back to us anytime!!! ♥♡

I had a great time staying at Dermot's place in Guanjuato. I was going to stay for couple weeks and kept extending and extending my stay :) Dermot has years long experience hosting workaway volunteers and is a really welcoming host who makes sure that you have everything you need. And is a genuinely fun person to hang out with. Me work was a little bit of everything: hosekeeping, painting, some basic menagement and erands. But besides work I really enjoyed having a chat and sharing some stories with Dermot. Thank you! Also, this city itself is charming, entertaining and vibrant. Worth staying there for a little bit longer then you would think.

Magui and Ivan were a dream to host. From the moment they arrived, they brought a warm, grounded energy to the surf lodge that made both our guests and the team feel instantly at ease. Their presence was not only helpful but deeply enriching. They contributed with kindness, professionalism, and a natural ability to connect with others in a genuine and meaningful way. Magui’s background in tourism and hospitality was evident in everything she did — from the way she engaged with guests to how she anticipated needs and brought thoughtful details into daily tasks. Ivan brought such a supportive, calming energy to the space. He was always ready to help, always thoughtful, and both of them carried a sense of joy and purpose that was contagious. They worked hard, asked good questions, communicated clearly, and truly became part of our lodge family. I would have loved for them to stay forever. Anyone lucky enough to host them will not only gain dedicated, skilled, and kind volunteers but also beautiful humans who leave places better than they found them. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I stayed at Shannon and Jeff’s place for 5 weeks, and it was my first Workaway experience. I was nervous at first, but they made me feel welcome right away. Their place is pretty remote, but surrounded by so much wildlife, that it was never boring. The work wasn’t hard at all - feeding the animals, walking the dogs, doing dishes, and helping with other small household chores. Jeff’s cooking was truly amazing, and on weekends Shannon would sometimes take us sightseeing or trail riding on her lovely horses. I also got to attend the Bridge lake rodeo, that was definitely a highlight of the trip. Both Shannon and Jeff have a great sense of humor, which made the whole stay really fun. I especially loved spending time with their dogs - Buster was my favorite! He’s hilarious, but always trying to run off. I came in nervous, but left with great memories. I’m really thankful to Shannon and Jeff for this opportunity, I couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway experience. I miss it so much!

We stayed with Cathy's family for a week, but we wish we could have spent more time with them. We enjoyed everyday. Despite her busy schedule, Cathy often treated us to FrenchCuisine and desserts and everything was delicious. Guillaume made us laugh with his funny jokes. Their beautiful children were cheerful and friendly. Learning about real French life and food culture was a wonderful experience in our lives. We are deeply grateful for their kindness and support, not only during our stay, but also before we met and after we parted ways. Merci beaucoup❣️

My time in Casablanca’s downtown school was truly memorable. I initially intended on staying 6-8 weeks and ultimately stayed almost 4 months! First and foremost, Harim and his staff could not have been more welcoming and the students were truly curious learners and always eager to make conversation using the provided topics. The communal lunches were a great insight into Moroccan cuisine and Harim will go out of his way to make sure you see all of Morocco during your breaks (generally 2-3 days off). This is a great match for someone who is outgoing (you will be doing A LOT of talking) and community minded as the accomodation can fit up to 10 volunteers who will become your close friends and travel buddies :)

I had my very first Workaway experience in Roberts Creek with Karen and Ryan, and I couldn't have imagined it any better! They welcomed me into their home for a little over two months and immediately treated me like part of the family. My highlights were the delicious dinners we shared—we talked a lot, laughed a lot, and they were always very attentive when I told them about traditions or experiences from Germany. Starting with the gardening and renovations on the porch, I had a lot of fun with everything I did during my time there. The tasks were very varied, I was able to work in the bright sunshine of the Sunshine Coast, and I found it very fulfilling to see the results and the noticeable progress on the property that I experienced over the two months. Thanks to Ryan's kind support, I was also able to learn many new skills. Furthermore, I fell in love with the Sunshine Coast. It is such an inconspicuous, beautiful place in Canada. Untouched nature with great opportunities for sports activities or other day trips. Access to the sea almost on your doorstep, perfect for relaxing and, with a little luck, you might even see orcas, sea lions, and seals. The towns along the coast are also great to explore, and the people are all very open and friendly and always up for a chat. Thanks to my stay with Karen and Ryan, I learned a lot, had wonderful experiences every single day, and already miss the time I spent there. I will definitely come back and would like to thank them both for their hospitality. I am glad that I had the opportunity to get to know them.
